There are five classes of immunoglobulins in the body, IgA, IgG, IgM, IgD, and IgE. IgE is most likely to be found attached to a B cell membrane. The most abundant antibody in blood plasma is IgG. IgE is important in allergic responses. IgM is the first to be released during primary response. IgG is able to cross the placental barrier into the fetus.
