Answer
The structure of an antibody consists of four polypeptides and two pairs of heavy and light chains. The polypeptides are linked via disulfide bonds in a Y shaped structure. Both heavy and light regions contains a variable region and a constant region.
The variable (V) region is the antigen binding site of the antibody. It can change its conformation based on the antigen.
The constant (C) region is identical to all isotypes of each antibody. It is the part that identifies the antibody.
