Chapter 10 - Blood - Review Questions - Page 381: 22

Answer

Agglutinins are substances that cause the aggregation of particles.

Work Step by Step

In our blood, there are some antibodies that adhere to the antigens present in blood or plasma membrane of foreign cells. These antibodies are called agglutinins. The binding of antigens to the specific sites of antibody forms an antigen-antibody complex. If these complexes aggregates, the phenomenon is known as agglutination.
