Chapter 5 - Linear Functions - 5-3 Slope-Intercept Form - Practice and Problem-Solving Exercises - Page 311: 67

Answer

We used the slope and y-intercept to graph this equation.

Work Step by Step

Our equation given is: -2(3x+4)+y=0 (Simplify) -6x-8+y=0 (Add 6x to both sides) -8+y=6x (Add 8 to both sides) y=6x+8 Now that we have the equation in slope intercept form, lets use the slope and the y-intercept to graph this equation. First start at (0,8) since that is our y-intercept. Then plot the next point by going up 6 units and right 1 unit since the slope is (6/1). Continue doing so until you have enough points to create a line.
