Dinner Party Role Play

Objective:

Students will develop an understanding of character development and point of view through a role playing exercise

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.3

Structure:

Re-read the dinner party scene briefly--this doesn't have to be a deep read. Pay attention to the different characters and their roles in this part of the story. As you re-read, take note of each character involved in the dinner, along with some key points regarding what you learn or conclude about them as you read.

After re-reading, assign one student to play each different character in a role-play of the dinner party scene/chapters....
