Fafhrd
Fafhrd is the book's primary protagonist, and he appears in several stories. In “The Cloud of Hate,” Fafhrd and his friend are relaxing on the street when suddenly, a serpent-like fog comes towards them. However, they are strong enough to resist the killer motive of the fog from the Temple of Hate.
In "Learn Times in Lankhmar," Fafhrd and his friend Mouser postpone their partnership due to the economic slowdown in the city. Fafhrd becomes a devoted follower of the god of peace. Throughout the book, Fafhrd is cautious about the steps he takes in life to make sure he does not mess with his god and his principles.
Gray Mouser
Gray Mouser is the secondary protagonist who appears in almost all the stories in the collection. He is a close friend to Fafhrd and has powers that help him resist the killer fog that haunts him from the underground Temple of Hate. The temple emits dangerous fog hanging over the streets to take people's minds.
In “Learn Times in Lankhmar,” he becomes a racketeer's lieutenant and starts collecting fees from the cults operating in God's Streets. Mouser is an interesting character because he is money-oriented, and any venture involving cash circulation interests him.
Issek of the Jug
Issek of the jug is the god of peace. The only devotee follower of the religion of Issek is Fafhrd. The entry of Fafhrd into Issek's religion attracted several followers because he was talented in singing. Fafhrd received his singing skills from the Northern barbarians.
The slender fish girls
The slender fish girls are at the center of the King's palace in the sea. Getting into the King's palace in the sea is the most difficult thing to undertake. However, any man who manages to make it receives goodies from the slender fish girls. The girls are beautiful, and their primary role is to entertain men visitors by offering free sex. The offering of free sex is a form of offering that cast a spell on the air bubbling underwater.
The Sea King
The Sea King is a very powerful figure, and his palace is in the middle of the sea. Men visiting the King must pass through a magic tent air passage and walk over dead fish, scurry crabs, and the dead bodies of sailors. Before seeing the King, men visitors are ushered in by the scaled beautiful women who direct them to the slender girls to receive sex, an act of cleansing.
