Swastika Night Imagery

Swastika Night Imagery

The Holy Hitler Chapel

The description of the Holy Hitler Chapel depicts sight imagery to readers. In the opening statement, the author writes, “The Knight turned towards the Holy Hitler chapel which in the orientation of this church lay in the western arm of the Swastika, and with the customary loud, impressive chords on the organ and a long roll on the scared drums, the Creed began."

The imagery of the handsome boy

Herman is a Nazi, and he does not miss Hitler's summons whenever he gets an opportunity. While seated in sitting in the chapel, Herman sees a handsome boy. The author writes, "Herman was sitting in the Goebbels chapel in the northern arm, whence he could conveniently watch the handsome boy with the long hair, who had been singing the silos.”

Hearing imagery

Hearing imagery is depicted to readers by the loud cries of terror coming from girls and young women driven into Hitler's chapel. The author writes, "The Knight came out from the Hitler chapel and stood watching the women and girls being driven in by a Nazi. Already the sniffles were beginning; already some of the younger children, at the mere sight of him, before he opened his mouth, set up loud cries of terror.”
