Still I Rise Lesson Plan

Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of "Still I Rise" students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.

Students would benefit from the use of small-group computers for research stations for the classroom activities "'Write me down in history': The Historical Backdrop of 'Still I Rise'" and "Maya Angelou: The Woman, The Poet, The Legend."

For "Creative Reinterpretations of 'Still I Rise'" and "Analyzing Poetry of Empowerment," production or presentation technology and resources for creative performances or projects will be beneficial.
