This is the sixth installment of the fantasy series. The emotional roller coaster of this in this novel is huge. If you are an action fan then this one might disappoint you a little as there's not much going on in the novel. It helps the readers to start right from the point they left. The flow is easy and strong. The story mostly revolves around rose and her 'never give up' nature. The first half shows her same old good nature,, but the other half is where the twist gets in swiftly.
After coming back from her journey to Siberia where Dimitri was born, Rose goes back to her normal life at the academy. She still misses him and ponders upon her decision. She could not kill him,, although she knows he would not stop looking for her to join him. In this part, Lisa and Rose goes back to Royal court. Even though it has been an interesting dynamic, the political things going on in this book are rather boring. Rose is fierce, mighty and funny as always, and yet she is deep and intense. The amazing thing about this part is Rose is seen suffering for the choices she made and lives she destroyed.
Lisa's character developed a lot as she graduated turns out to be a strong hearted woman being able to control the powers. Vampire academy is all about the love triangle. In the previous installments Adrian was seen as a clingy and rather disturbing person, but once you read this one, your heart is bound to go for him. Rose finally comes to her senses and realises what she wants. Few story developments in the book are melodramatic and a little unexpected from Rachelle Mead, but needless to say it is a must-read for any VA series lover.
