Objective:

Students will be able to explore the medium of television talk shows as trauma therapy for individuals and groups using the characters from Speak.

Structure:

Explain to students that they will be acting out a talk show, like the ones cited in the last chapter in this section, in which the characters from the novel appear. On an interactive whiteboard, bring up the individual websites of each of the talk show hosts mentioned in the book, and have the students discuss how each of them might treat the guests on their show.
