Objective:

Students will research the historic period in which the novel takes place.

Structure:

For this activity, students will divide into small groups of 3-5 each. Each group will prepare a presentation on one aspect of American life in the 1950s (for instance, the music, the political climate, the impending crash of the Great Depression). The aim is for students to better familiarize themselves with the decade in which Something Wicked is set. Each group will research their chosen subject and give a presentation in front of the rest of the class.
