    Structure:

    In Slaughterhouse Five, the narrator Kurt Vonnegut inserts himself in the novel in Chapter One; it also seems that he pulls from his own life to create Billy Pilgrim's character. Getting to know Vonnegut more intimately can benefit readers, especially considering the novel blends fact and fiction liberally.
