Analyze the bargain that the Lord strikes with Gawain, comparing it to the Green Knight's game.
The bargain and the game are similar in that they both invoke a strange, mystical tone, and also function much the same way in the plot of the story as tests of Gawain. Both are intended to test Gawain's loyalty, faithfulness, honor, and general adherence to maintaining his composure as a knight. The bargain and the game are also both exchanges--one of winnings, and one of blows. While one seems on its face less costly, they both require sacrifice and commitment from their participants.
