    Medea

    Kind of Activity:

    Artistic Response

    Objective:

    Students will research and visually represent the mythology of Medea and Jason

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.7, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.11-12.5

    Structure:

    Throughout the novel, Esch heavily draws from Medea mythology to understand her own realities. In order to best understand the comparisons Esch is making, the students will briefly research the Medea myth.

    Ask the class what they know, if anything, about Medea from Greek mythology. Allow around 5 minutes for a discussion.
