Ruin and Rising is a fantasy action book written by Leigh Bardugo and is the third and final installment in the Grishaverse trilogy. The book and was preceded by Siege and Storm.
The book follows on from the previous novel, with the capital falling and the Darkling ruling over it. Alina has been weakened and is stuck with the Apparat, who worship her as their Saint. However, her and Mal are in desperate need of finding the remaining Morozova's amplifiers and uncovering the Darkling's weaknesses in order to defeat him once and for all.
The book has been extremely well received with Booklist stating that "Readers won't be able to turn the pages fast enough to the conclusion that will generate much discussion." A Netflix series based on the book, called Shadow and Bone, was released on April 23, 2021. Jessie Mei Li stars as Alina Starkov, Archie Renaux as Malyen "Mal" Oretsev and Ben Barnes as The Darkling.
