Group Work
Objective:
Students will be able to identify passages from the text that support their interpretations.

Structure:
First in small groups and then as a class, students will discuss whether or not it seems like Crusoe should have left home. Crusoe takes a risk in leaving home. As his father states, he has a decent life ahead of him if he stays home and remains in the middle class. Along his journey, Crusoe indeed seems to suffer some crises of conscience, wondering if his father was correct.
Individually, students should identify 2-3 areas in the text...
