Prodigy Summary

The beginning of Prodigy presents a scene in which Day and June are off to Las Vegas with a mission to meet the Patriots. After Kaede finds Day and June, the pair meets the Patriots. The leader of the Patriots, Razor, makes an arrangement with Day and June: they can help fix Day’s leg and rescue his sibling, Eden, on the off chance that they agree to both help assassinate the new Elector Primo. The two share a cozy moment together and take in the subtle elements and employments of every individual subsequent to addressing Razor. After Day’s leg is fixed (which is now slightly metal), they make an arrangement that June would be bait and trap Anden. Razor notes that Anden has fancied towards June, therefore the task is simpler to obtain his trust.

As indicated by the arrangement, June is taken to the Vegas carrier center point where Thomas finds and catches her. Day is taken to the city, Lamar. Kaede presents a series of underground passages between the Republic and the Colonies, where they see the outside world out of the Republic.

June is questioned by Thomas; however, she is determined to see with the new Elector, Anden, following the plan. Once June meets Anden at the capital city of Denver, she understands how different Anden is from the past Elector when they have dinner and talk together. She additionally informs him of the fake assassination plot that the Patriots are arranging (in order to have Anden’s trust). Toward the end of the meal, Anden questions whether June is being truthful, which she responds with the fact that she is telling the truth.

In order to prove her loyalty and honesty, June takes a lie detector test, which brings back numerous flashbacks about Metias. She passes effectively but believes she barely passed. When residing in her room, Anden visits and whispers to her about the plans and progressions he may want to change. He reveals to her how the assassination plot had turned out, which makes him confide in her more. He whispers that he wants to discharge Eden on the grounds that the biological test was there for no reason. He does this to gain Day’s trust. Toward the end, Anden steals a kiss from June and exits the room. June touches her eye with her finger which shows that the Patriots should stop the assassination plan.

On the train ride the following day, Anden reveals the historical side of the Republic to June and the reasoning behind Trials in those days. Eastern United State was overflowed and submerged as a result of Global warming, and a huge amount of individuals fled toward the west. The military formed the Republic and Trials began. The Trials then were reasonable, but as time passed, it wound up plainly one-sided and went to choose the best individuals for military. Likewise, the trials were later given a mission to control the population and the individuals who failed were basically useless. Anden states to June about how he needs to change the Republic. June accepts and believes what Anden says is true. She also feels that lied to her.

Day was already planning the fake attack of the train in order for June to demonstrate that Patriots were arranging a death plot. He doesn’t understand June’s warning signal when he sees the video (without sound) of June and Anden in the room. He believes that June is in love with Anden. He becomes jealous of Anden while Tess becomes jealous of June. Tess and Day then have an argument over her.

Day additionally finds a carriage with a kid secured inside the thick glass. Day feels that the kid is Eden, yet it turns out to be a mutated victim. Day attempts to release the blind child but he fails when the Republic troopers are walking by.

It is the assassination day and June does her best to prevent Anden from being killed. She feels slightly ill and fakes a faint. Administrator De Soto (Razor) sees what June is attempting to do and arrange that the car must be taken to the assassination area rather than the hospital – against Anden’s orders. June escapes the car, to shield Anden (which fails the assassination plot) and flees with Day through the passages amongst Colonies and the Republic. Day feels guilty because he left Tess deserted.

When they find sanctuary, June and Day quarrel. Day complains about her association with Anden and her motivation behind why they canceled the plot. He is also irate about getting isolated from the Patriots, and straightforwardly points the finger at her for his mother and siblings’ demise and being a backstabber. June responds to the argument, but Day unyieldingly declines to acknowledge her perspective. They separate for a bit before June practically apologized by teaching Day how to fight. Through everything, they still forgive each other, even though Day feels guilty since he blamed her and she begins to get even more ill.

They flee again when there is an alert that someone is drawing closer. After finally reaching the Colonies, Day is able to take June to a hospital in the Colonies to get treated for her illness. Meanwhile, Day is treated by the Colonies as a hero and celebrity. While he is praised and adored, Day notices Kaede’s warning sign that this is a crisis and they need to talk. While this happens, June is dreaming and it appears that she has found a sensible solution to this mystery. Kaede tells Day that she figured out that Razor actually works for the Republic, where the Republic representatives hired Razor to kill Anden the Elector.

Kaede tells Day that Anden survived. He then notices warriors running by and understands that they came to capture June because she worked for the Republic (and they were foes). Day and Kaede can help June escape from prison and Kaede (who was a former pilot) takes a jet and flies to the Republic. Sadly, Kaede is shot down and dies from gunfire. Day and June are forced to abandon her and escape to the Republic.

When Day and June arrive at the Republic, Day runs to a tower and makes a speech to the Republic telling them about Anden’s great intentions and that they need to support him. As a result of Day winning the people over, they gave their support to Anden.

In the end, Day is finally reunited with his brother, Eden. Yet, he is informed that the Republic’s examinations with him in his youthful years have led to a fatal brain disorder, which will cause his death.

Anden visits June and expresses gratitude toward her for her help. Anden additionally tells her that he hopes she can become the Princeps of Elect (his second in command). June is contemplating the request, but Day tells her to accept the offer. Day gives her a ruby necklace, and tells June that their relationship ought to stop since it would fail because of their history. However, Day doesn’t tell June that is he dying. They share one last kiss and June feels empty once again when he leaves.
