June

One of the two main protagonists of the story. She is a sixteen-year-old who is believed to be the only citizen to score a 1500 on her Trial, one of the Republic's compulsory frameworks. Naturally born to an elite Republic family, her parents mysteriously died in a car accident, which left her older brother, Metias, to parent her. Metias is mysteriously murdered and a boy named Day is the main suspect. June ventures on a journey to find her murderer. She's intelligent, keen, and a touch of an edgy individual. She has long, dark hair that is usually tied in a ponytail and dark, dull eyes with sparkles of light in them.

Day

Also known as Daniel Altan Wing. One of the two main protagonists of the story. He is a sixteen-year-old prodigy born in the dumps of the Republic. Day is the most-wanted criminal and the main suspect of the murder of Metias. He has long, light blond hair and splendid blue eyes. He additionally has a limp in his left leg and a "defect" (a lighter spot of blue) in one eye from when the Republic conducted investigations on him. Lu portrays Day as being coordinated, especially more to June. He is also brave, yet stubborn, and scored a perfect 1500 on his Trial, but was deceived from the Republic, being told he scored 674 (45%). Metias

June's older brother who was murdered in the novel earlier. He was murdered by Thomas, his best friend, who was acting on orders from their commander. He was twenty-seven when he passed and had dark hair and eyes like June. He was a brilliant hacker who rebelled against the Republic after making several revealing discoveries.

Thomas

Metias's best friend who pretended to be in love with June and attempts to kiss her. He has a special hatred against Day and it is later told that Thomas was Metias's murderer. June begins to believe that her brother was in love with Thomas, but does not know for a fact if the feeling was reciprocated.

Commander Jameson

June's ruthless commander and a sort of alternate guardian to June, being that June's brother and parents are gone. It is revealed that Jameson was working with the leader of the Patriots to eliminate the new Elector.

Tess

Day's thirteen-year-old accomplice in crime and care-taking. Tess was deserted by her family and taken in by Day when she just ten. She disappears after Day is arrested by June yet is later found to have joined the Patriots. In Prodigy, Tess is attempting to end up noticeable a Medic. Tess additionally built a crush on Day, and her envy and doubt of June add pressure to her association with Day, who sees her more as a sister rather than someone he could be involved with romantically.

Anden

Ollie

Day's youngest brother who comes in contact with an altered version of the plague and loses his sight due to the experiments of the Republic. In the novel, Eden was used as a biological device and weapon. The new Elector releases Eden and he is then no longer required to take the Trial.

John Wing

Day's oldest brother who is executed at the end of Legend when disguising himself as Day.

Andrew "Razor" DeSoto

Patriots' Leader, who was also a recent Republic soldier. Razor created a scheme to remove the Elector Anden for the Republic, where he would then be made the new Elector.

Chian

Los Angeles's head Trial chairman. He controlled June and Day's Trial and used to be Metias's mentor in Legend.

Baxter

A Runner for the Patriots who harasses Day because he trusts in June's instincts (Baxter believes that June is working for both sides). Tess and he had a small fling, but it quickly finished after Day and Baxter fought.

Pascao

The irrefutable leader of the Patriot Runners.
