June
One of the two main protagonists of the story. She is a sixteen-year-old who is believed to be the only citizen to score a 1500 on her Trial, one of the Republic's compulsory frameworks. Tess

Baxter
A Runner for the Patriots who harasses Day because he trusts in June's instincts (Baxter believes that June is working for both sides). Tess and he had a small fling, but it quickly finished after Day and Baxter fought.
