Lyle Hertzog
Lyle is the story’s narrator and protagonist. Lyle is described as ambitious, strategic, and a team leader. Lyle has lived with his family in Qwikpick since childhood and knows every corner of the small town. Lyles's two closest friends are Marilla and Dave.
When Christmas approaches, Lyle asks his friends to arrange an outing activity for adventure. Marilla reads an article about the poop fountain replacement and shares the story with Lyle. Lyle thinks it is a good idea, and starts to organize a meeting on how they can take advantage of the occasion for fun.
Marilla Anderson
Marilla is a curious and adventurous girl who wants to know everything happening in their small town. For instance, Marilla loves reading books, newspapers and listening to the news. One day, Marilla comes across a newspaper article stating that the old poop fountain machine in the sewer will be replaced on a particular date. Marilla shares the news with her friends, and they plan to attend the sewer on the specified date.
Dave H. Raskin
The author depicts Dave as a quick thinker and problem solver. When Lyle struggles to come up with a name for the new group, Dave quickly suggests the name, "Qwikpick Adventures Society." Lyle and Marilla love the name because it signifies their love for the hometown. Whenever the group seeks a solution to any problem, Dave quickly intervenes and gives helpful suggestions for consideration.
