    Mytho-genealogy, part 2

    Kind of Activity:

    Group Work

    Objective:

    Students will learn about Greek mythology and its influences on literature

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RH.11-12.5; CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RH.11-12.9

    Structure:

    Having already constructed the genealogies of several mythological characters, the students will now dive into Oedipus, who figures prominently in this section of the reading.

    Using internet sources, Yeats' poetry, as well as excerpts from Sophocles (Oedipus Rex, Oedipus at Colonus), one group of students will create the family tree of Oedipus.
