Reflections
Skip exits the subway and sees a man in the mirror following him. Then on the street he uses a plate glass window to look for the reflection of the man. The imagery shows us that Skip is a highly aware man, always ready and watching as his line of criminal work demands it, and we see it in action during these scenes.
Tight Spot
Candy has come back to Joey's apartment and he tells her he needs her to negotiate the deal for the microfilm now that she's found Skip. We see Candy framed between the curtains leading to Joey's bedroom and the imagery reveals that she is in a tight place. One that she doesn't want to be in, but also one she's chosen.
Get that Film
We see one of the Commie men that Joey is in league with place a gun on his desk and exit the room. Fuller composes an image where the gun is in forefront of the frame and Candy is in the background. The imagery shows her horror as she never thought that the situation would escalate to a point that people would be willing to kill for this information. She was only making a drop and now there is murder involved.
No More Music
Moe is visited by Joey and she won't give up Skip. So, Joey shoots her in the head. Fuller pans his camera to the left to reveal the record player she put on has stopped playing. The imagery symbolizes that Moe's music has literally has stopped playing too as she was murdered.
