One Last Stop Summary

One Last Stop Summary

The novel follows a twenty-three-year old August who, disappointed in the romantic idea of love and relationships, wants a fresh start after moving to New York. Once there, she soon realizes that the fresh start is not so easy. She is trudging through life working as a waitress and enduring living with far too many roommates.

August sees her life as a summary of boring moments, including the daily subway commute. Nevertheless, this changes one day after August notices an attractive, but strangely dressed girl called June. August is immediately smitten by June, and he roughened up appearance and aura.

Her daily commute becomes the most exciting part of her life, with looking forward to seeing June. But, there comes a sudden twist to their daily meetings. August discovers that June is a time-traveler, and that she comes from the 70s, which is why her appearance seems out of place. August is set on helping June, and use all her knowledge for that mission. While on time-traveling and mystery-resolving missions, the two develop an expected love and fondness for each other.
