Lady Pearl
Played by Barbara Baxley, Lady Pearl is a charming woman who is Haven Hamilton's companion in this political battle. Being drunk for most of the film, Lady Pearl owns a downtown nightclub that we see in the film. Despite giving into her drinking temptations, she claims that she is Roman Catholic.
Tom Frank
Played by Keith Carradine, Tom Frank is in the folk rock trio dubbed, "Bill, Mary, and Tom". A rude sort of man and being quite overconfident, he leaves the band wishing to pursue a career as a stand alone singer. During the movie, he has affairs with Opal, Mary, and others that viewers can only presume about.
Opal
Played by Geraldine Chaplin, Opal is a BBC Radio reporter. Appearing at first glance to be mad and crazy, she is a strategic player in BBC's media control of this political drama. Being obsessed with celebrities and the latest trends, she is better able to relate to viewers, therefore the view of BBC will likely become the view of the audience.
Bud Hamilton
Son of Haven Hamilton, Bud is a graduate of Harvard University, and is a quiet but strong character throughout the film. Played by Dave Peel, he tells Opal that he would like to be a singer one day, but the expectations set by his father would never allow him to do as such.
