Kirsten Dunst
When Dunst was just twelve years old she became famous around the world for her role as Claudia in Interview with a Vampire. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for this performance, which she followed up with Little Women and Jumanji at the ripe old age of thirteen. A string of movies followed, all of which were rather deep, dark and intense, especially for a teen star still finding her feet in the heady world of Hollywood. To remedy this, Dunst took on roles in a succession of comedies, which also brought her to the attention of the then-fashionable "lad mag" readers, and she found herself ranking highly in the FHM Magazine 100 Sexiest Women of the Year as she headed into her twenties. She cemented her position as one of Hollywood's top earners when she was cast as Mary Jane Watson in Sam Raimi's Spider Man trilogy opposite Tobey McGuire.
For her role in Melancholia, Dunst was awarded the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011.
Charlotte Gainsbourg
Gainsbourg comes from a distinctly show-business lineage, the daughter of English actress Jane Birkn (for whom Hermes named their signature Birkin bag) and French singer/songwriter Serge Gainsbourg. Her musical debut came by way of a duet with her father at the age of fifteen, called somewhat disturbingly Lemon Incest.
Gainsbourg has appeared in several Lars von Trier films, and has received both a Cesar Award and the Best Actress Award from the Cannes Film Festival, both the result of collaborations with von Trier.
Kiefer Sutherland
Aside from being the son of acting heavyweight Donald Sutherland, Canadian-born Kiefer also has the distinction of having rather more middle names than the average person - five of them, to be exact He is probably best known for his role as Jack Bauer on the Fox network's groundbreaking real-time thriller 24, but in his younger years was also one of the original members of the Brat Pack. He has been inducted into both the Canadian Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, just like his father.
Alexander Skarsgard
Best known for his role on the HBO phenomenon True Blood, where he also met his wife, Anna Pacquin, He is one of HBO's most popular stars, and returned after True Blood to star in the mini-series Generation Kill, and again for the network in the hit drama Big Little Lies with Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon. The latter garnered him a Primetime Emmy award. He was nominated for a Robert Award for his role in Melancholia.
Charlotte Rampling
In the 1960s, Charlotte Rampling appeared in a magazine photo shoot wearing a man's white shirt, smoking a cigarette; this created such a stir, and established her as such a sex symbol in her native UK that the media decided to make her last name a verb with a hugely sexual connotation. She became an icon, but never mainstream, preferring instead to work on European movies and arthouse projects, and also branched out into television ,creating the role of Evelyn Vogel in the cult hit Dexter, which earned her a nomination for a Primetime Emmy award.
John Hurt
John Hurt was a British actor best known for being unrecognizable on screen, bringing to life the Victorian era boardwalk attraction that was The Elephant Man, before losing almost fifty pounds to portray revered British jockey Bob Champion, who valiantly battled cancer before finally succumbing to the disease at the prime of his career. Director David Lynch has called him "simply the best actor in the world", and for his talents and performances Hurt has been awarded a knighthood. Hurt passed away in 2017 at the age of seventy seven.
