Yasmin’s marriage
Yasmin is looking forward to getting married to a rich man, hoping to get the stability she has looked for in her life. However, before the marriage, Yasmin learns that Joe is a womanizer and has many sexual partners, and the wedding ahead is to cover up his unfaithfulness. Ironically, despite having this first-hand information about Joe, Yasmin continues with the wedding preparations without questioning Joe to square things out. After the wedding, Yasmin faces the harsh reality of Joe's behavior, and at last, she asks for a divorce.
Arif’s disloyalty to his faith
A strict religious father who intends to give his son the best in life has brought up Arif. Arif's father, Ghorami, was an orphan, but he struggled against all hurdles to become a medical doctor, and he wants him to get the best in life. Ironically, Arif argues that his father is too strict for nothing, and he will have to do things his way. The father reminds Ari to follow religious teachings and only get into a sexual relationship after marriage. Sardonically, Arif goes ahead to father a child out of wedlock with his girlfriend.
The paradox of the mother-in-law
Yasmin is ready to meet her future mother-in-law and is optimistic despite being nervous. Yasmin is to be accompanied by her parents to meet Joe's mother, Harriet. Ironically, Yasmin discovers that Harriet is the famous feminist who posed naked in a 1990 magazine. Yasmin's mother has been reading sexual essays by Harriet, but she does not know that she will be her daughter's mother-in-law. Similarly, Arif has seen the naked photo of Harriet in one of the magazines, and he questions what kind of mother-in-law Yasmin will interact with for the rest of her life.
