Lord of Chaos Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

The symbolism of greediness

The Dark One is a symbol of greediness. After taking over the reign, the Dark One follows his selfish interests at the expense of climate conservation. As a leader, the reader expects the Dark One to champion environmental conservation, but he does the complete opposite.

The symbolism of power

The Dark One has the power to resurrect and create new beings, making him a symbol of power. However, in the long run, he is drunk with power and uses it to ruin the lives of his subjects by making the climate unsustainable.

Captivity as a symbol of hope

Many people who, through captivity, assume that they are destined to fail in life. In contrast, for the dark One, captivity symbolizes hope because, towards the end, he gets out of prison and takes over the country. As a result, Rand is captured and tortured.

Women as a symbol of suspicion

Throughout the text, women are depicted as symbols of suspicion. The author notes that women can still suspect men as evil even if the world was to end. Interestingly, women can ask God to stop ending the world until they accuse men of their wrongdoings.
