Germaine Lauzon
Germaine is the main character of the player. She is a middle-aged woman who has come into a large quantity of trading stamps. She hosts a party to enlist the help of her family and friends in putting the stamps in booklets. She is revealed to be socially conservative and deeply judgmental of the other characters, especially her daughter Linda and sister Pierrette.
Linda Lauzon
Linda is Germaine's daughter. She is less conservative than her mother and the two frequently argue. She is clearly unafraid to speak her opinion. She is in a relationship with a man named Robert, of whom Germaine disapproves.
Marie-Ange Brouillette
Marie-Ange is a neighbor of Germaine. She perceives herself as poor and unlucky, repeatedly expressing her anger and jealousy about Germaine's win.
Rose Ouimet
Rose is one of Germaine's three sisters. She complains constantly about her husband and is something of a gossip. She is similarly harsh in her judgment of other people.
Gabrielle Jodoin
Gabrielle is another one of Germaine's sisters. She is also very conservative and is upset about the fact that her son has taken an interest in classical music.
Pierrette Guérin
Pierrette is Germaine's youngest sister. She is seen as a rebel and outcast. She works in a club and feels concerned about the direction of her future.
Lise Paquette
Lise is a friend of Linda's. She is pregnant and considering getting an abortion.
Lisette de Courval
Lisette is another one of Germaine's friends. She sees herself as having higher social status than her peers. She frequently talks about luxurious clothing and vacations, much to the irritation of the other people at the party.
Des-Neiges Verrette
Des-Neiges is an older woman carrying on a flirtation with a traveling salesman.
Yvette Longpré
Yvette is fairly quiet but talks about her daughter's marriage and honeymoon.
Thérèse Dubuc
Thérèse is Germaine's friend and is put upon as the primary caregiver for her mother-in-law, Olivine. She resents having to take on this role and takes out her frustration on Olivine.
Olivine Dubuc
Olivine is Thérèse's mother-in-law. She is eighty-three years old and in very poor health. She needs help eating, dressing, and bathing herself. Her care falls entirely on Thérèse's shoulders.
Ginette Ménard
Ginette is also Linda's friend. She is something of a third wheel to Linda and Lise. She says she has had a difficult life: her father had anger issues, her mother was an alcoholic, and she was given the least attention of all of her siblings.
Rhéauna Bibeau
Rhéauna is a very conservative middle-aged woman and a frequent church-goer. She is best friends with Angéline.
Angéline Sauvé
Angéline is close friends with Rhéauna. It is revealed that her attitudes are laxer than those of her friends, as she goes to the club where Pierrette works and has a more open outlook about people outside their immediate social circle.
