Interpreter of Maladies Lesson Plan

Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of Interpreter of Maladies, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.

In the Day #1 activity "The History of the Indo-Pakistani War and a Monologue by Lilia," students will create video monologues from Lilia's perspective.

In the Day #2 activity "Overlapping Theme Collage," students will use design software or an app to create their digital collages.

In the Day #4 activity "Matching Mood in Playlists," students will use an app to create playlists that represent the mood of a story in the book.
