Ruby is out scouting the city for information about how to avoid the military in order to escape with the group and set out to the old Children's League HQ. On her way back to their hiding place she spots the agents that are with them and that got out in search for food. She sees them eating the food and discussing how to get rid of the PSI kids. On their way back Ruby joins them and sees their plan to trade the PSI's for money to be able to go after Grey.
When Cole returns Ruby tells him about the agents' plan and it seems that Cole already had his doubts. The two make a plan to make the agents go the other way so that they won't be able to track Cole, Ruby and the group. Clancy is also with the group as their prisoner. They set out in three groups, League's agents in one, Senator Cruz that Cole previously brought to join them in second, and Cole, Ruby, Clancy and Ruby's friends in third.
On their way they Ruby and Liam notice the insignia from East River that the kids who escaped left. Ruby takes the wheel while Cole rests and decides to follow the trail hoping to find Zu. She finds Zu in an old warehouse with a bunch of other PSI kids and Cole agrees to take them with them to HQ.
They arrive at the old headquarters and are greeted by a League's agent Dolly. Cate soon joins them and scours the group for Jude bus soon realises what happened. Dolly and Cate inform them that the agents who were there all left and took most of the supplies with them. Cole and Ruby reveal their plan to send the other agents in the wrong direction and Ruby reveals their hidden intentions to everyone. Despite that, the rest of the group is suspicious of Ruby and Cole's alliance.
Cate decides to leave the next morning to find the agents to ask them to come back. Ruby finds herself haunted by the vision of Jude and starts to sleepwalk. She manages to get information from Clancy about the PSI camps.
Cole, Ruby and rest decide to hit a smaller camp first called Oasis, Senator Cruz is especially interested in this because her daughter is there. After that they plan to hit Thurmond. She also tries to get information from Clancy about whereabouts of her mother Lillian Grey. Ruby discovers that Dr. Grey is with the Children's League and that her brain is all messed up by Clancy.
In the HQ Nico discovers evidence that Cate and rest of the agents have been abducted by PSF's. Vida and Chubs go on a road to find Lillian Grey.
The chosen group goes on a hit to Oasis. In the middle of their mission Liam joins them with a reporter from Amplify called Alice. The mission is completed successfully and the kids are out and joining the group at HQ. Cole is angry at Liam and Ruby is not that far behind either.
Chubs and Vida return with Lillian Grey and Ruby finds a way to fix what Clancy's done to her.
The reporter, Alice, decides to interview the kids. Zu is being interviewed and she finally manages to speak out loud.
Lillian Grey tells the group about the cause of IAAN-it is poisoned water that the parents of IAAN affected kids drunk. There is no real cure for it, only a way to suppress it with an invasive surgery.
Ruby convinces Cole to tell his truth about being a Red to Liam. Ruby and Liam make up. Cole and Liam go of to inspect a camp of Reds. Lillian convinces Ruby to let her see her son. Ruby is suddenly woken up by her friends about news that one of the Stewart boys is dead.
Cole is dead and they get a frantic phone call from Liam. Ruby is numb and passes out. She wakes up with a gun in her hand pointed at Lillian Grey. Ruby realises that she is controlled by Clancy and every time she sleepwalked she was giving information to Grey's people about their whereabouts and they are about to hit the HQ soon.
Ruby tells Chubs and others to escape and she goes to see Clancy. There she finds Nico yelling at him because of what he's done. Lillian enters the room and shoots Clancy wounding him. Ruby takes a flash drive from Nico containing a virus Nico created for their hit on Thurmond. Ruby tells Nico to inform the others that the plan still stands and locks him in the room. Ruby drags Clancy in front of the PSF's already attacking the building. They tie her up and she manages to implant the information in their mind that she is a Green, not Orange.
Ruby wakes up in Thurmond and she is sent of to her old cabin. She is reunited with her old friends and gives Sam her memory back.
On the first of March Ruby heads toward the control tower to implant the virus. After she does it she is capture by agents and tortured. Thurmond is under attack and Ruby is reunited with Liam. She meets Harry, Liam's stepfather, who helped them with the attack. Thurmond is down and kids are free and running to meet their parents waiting for them. Ruby is hospitalized.
Ruby wakes up a few days later and is greeted by her grandmother. She gives their memories back to her parents.
A few days later there is a meeting on what to do next after the camps are down. Seeing that the things aren't going to be the same, that they won't have their freedom now that the adults are in charge again, Liam, Ruby, Vida, Chubs and Zu leave the meeting, take a car and set of on the open road.
