Cross-Country Snow
After skiing together in Switzerland, Nick and his friend George (who calls Nick “Mike”) relax with drinks in the lodge. George notices the other attendees, including an unwed pregnant waitress and Swiss men smoking. The two talk about wanting to stay in Switzerland forever, but George brings up a woman named Helen, who is pregnant. The reminder breaks Nick’s good mood, but he tries to enjoy skiing while he can.
