Structure:

One of the more striking scenes in Chapter 5 finds Imtiaz giving a spectacular poetry reading. To fully understand the significance of that scene, students will do their own readings.

1. At the beginning of the project, show students clips from the recent Youth Speaks Teen Poetry Slam.

2. Ask students to each find a poem that they like, either on their own or from an anthology in the classroom.
