    Students will watch "The Color Purple" and write a response essay.

    Structure:

    Students will watch The Color Purple (depending on time constraints, it can be assigned or viewed in class). The students will write a response essay after viewing the film with the following prompt: what issues facing Black women during the time period of the film are still relevant today, according to Kendall?...
