    Structure:

    Now that Grendel has met his match in Beowulf, what does it all mean? Does this book have a lesson or moral? Does it illustrate a point about philosophy, or about the meaning of life? And how does it relate to its famous source material?

    Students should develop a final project tackling one of the book's central themes. These include:

    - Philosophy

    - Religion

    - Nihilism

    - Pursuit of Knowledge/Truth

    - Politics

    - Violence
