Study Objectives

If all of the elements of this lesson plan are employed, students will develop the following powers, skills, and understanding:

    Students will be able to analyze characters' motivations and interactions in Great Expectations.

    Students will be able to compare and connect Great Expectations with a film adaptation and with other works of literature.

  3. 3

    Students will be able to examine the nostalgic and analytical lens through which Pip, the narrator, makes sense of and presents the events of the novel.

  4. 4

    Students will be able to use evidence from the text to support their arguments.
