Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone Irony

Hunting

In ancient communities, gender roles were clear; women were expected to remain at home and take care of children and household chaos. For instance, hunting is a man's role, including protecting the family. Ironically, Brianna tells her husband, "I am going to hunt with Da." It is in the middle of the night, and Brianna is very determined to go hunting to hunting with fellow women. Roger sarcastically reminds Brianna that it is in the middle of the night to prevent her from leaving the house. However, Brianna's determination manifests in gender reversal roles because women also feel they can do what men do.

Dangers of 17th century

Due to many diseases, starvation, and impending war, Brianna and her husband find it impossible to continue living in the 20th century. Therefore, they decide to go back to the 17th century because it is safe. Paradoxically, the 17th century is even worse because there were endless uprisings and conflicts. Consequently, Brianna and her husband are running away from a lesser evil century to the worst without knowing.

The satire of Jamie with his tenants

Before migrating to the United States of America, Jamie was a Jacobite fighter and never tolerated loyalists or patriots of any kind. The ongoing uprising is against patriots and loyalists. Ironically, all Jamie's tenants in Fraser's Ridge are loyalists, and he puts up with them despite knowing that conflict will come closer to his door soon.
