Furies of Calderon (Codex Alera Book 1) Irony

Tavi

At first, Tavi is unable to craft furies, which makes him feel inadequate. However, he ironically goes onto show great courage and strength which increases his self-worth.

Irony of bullying

Tavi is even bullied by other people in the valley as he still hasn't gained any abilities. However, he will ironically become more important than anyone else in the valley as he saves many people.

Amara

Tavi saves the life of a slave called Amara. However, it is revealed that Amara is ironically not a slave, but is instead a spay for Sextus.

Loss of memory

After witnessing an attack from a Herdbane, Tavi is not believed by Bernard as he lost his memory. However, Tavi actually did see the attack and the creature, which is supported by Amara.
