    Use of Visual Detail

    Artistic Response

    Objective:

    Students will be able to connect written description with another medium

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.5.1

    Structure:

    Discuss visual detail with the students. Konigsburg doesn't actually give a great deal of explicit visual detail; her descriptions are extremely action-based. However, she still gives readers a picture of what's happening. Consider, for instance, the descriptions of the children's first arrival in the museum, or their interactions with the crowd surrounding Angel.
