Isaac Castillo
Isaac is a compassionate child who aspires to pursue his dreams despite the harsh environment around him. Isaac is a gifted basketball player, and every student admires his success. Paradoxically, Isaac's mother is not satisfied with Isaac's route. The mother wants Isaac to shun sports and concentrate on his studies. Isaac feels bad because he performs poorly in academics, which bothers him. The mother tells Isaac that he will end up like his alcoholic father if he does not improve his school grades.
Isaac is a close friend of Marco, his childhood friend. Marco excels in academics, and he scores everything in class. Isaac requests Marco to help him improve his grades. Marco accepts to support Isaac because they share a similar background of having unfortunate and uncooperative parents.
Marco Honeyman
Marco is a brilliant student and supportive in whatever he does. Marco is a childhood friend of Isaac. Marco is an intelligent student who scores everything in his studies, unlike Isaac, who struggles academically. However, Marco's father prefers something other than Marco's obsession with academic excellence. Instead, Marco's father wants him to be an athlete or pursue any sporting activity. Consequently, Marco and Isaac suffer the same fate because their parents are not passionate about their talents.
When Marco decides to play basketball for the first time, Isaac volunteers to train him. Despite his shortness and lack of experience, Marco performs excellently in the basketball tournament. Marco also promises to help Isaac improve his academic grades.
Isaac’s father
Isaac's father is an alcoholic and irresponsible man. When Isaac's mother realizes her husband is useless, she kicks him out of the house. However, Isaac's mother continues to blame Isaac for his academic failure. The mother always reminds Isaac if he does not put more effort into his studies, he will end up like his alcoholic father. The mother does not recognize Isaac's excellence in basketball.
Marco’s father
Marco's father is a paradoxical character. For instance, the father is always absent in Marco's life, but he pressures him to pursue sports instead of academics. According to Marco's father, sports pay more than any other career. However, Marco is a bright student who wants to excel in his studies.
