Everyman: Morality Play Lesson Plan

Does the Church have objectives other than salvation? Can you point to places in the text that might serve other motives?

Discuss the section where Five Wits and Knowledge discuss and dismiss the possible sinfulness of priests and decide that priests are higher in status than Angels. There's also the section at the beginning where Everyman finds he cannot trust his friends or his family, which leads him to only trust himself and the Church (which, in the pre-Reformation era, was the only conduit to God).
