Enrique's Journey, written by Sonia Nazario, was first published as a series in the Los Angeles Times. It was then turned into a book, which became a bestseller. The book details the experience of a seventeen-year-old, Enrique, who travels from Honduras to the United States in search of his mother, who left him behind when he was five years old in order to make money in the U.S. and give her family a better life. Using investigative journalism, Nazario retraces Enrique's journey, interviewing those he met along the way as well as family and friends in Honduras.
