All other members of the family including Uncle Bright are skeptical about Windrider’s idea of making an airplane. Moon Shadow supports his father and writes a letter to the Wright brothers inquiring about the making of airplanes. Therefore, Moon Shadow knows that his father is sober-minded and they will become successful in building a plane called dragonwings.

Although friends and family members dismiss their idea, Windrider and his son manage to create a successful flying machine. People should not be disheartened by others' judgments. Windrider and his son continue working on their dream despite all the negative judgments from their loved ones. The dream of any individual should be cut short based on people’s opinions and judgments.
