What is it that people find so repulsive about Hyde?
Some students may mention the vague allusions to "deformity," but they will be hard pressed to describe what that deformity actually is, since no one in the book can describe it either. Some of the horror may be attributed to his actions, but people seem to be frightened by him even before he does anything terrible. Ultimately students may note that what is so threatening or disgusting about Hyde remains undefined, but nonetheless all the characters seem to be repelled.
