Dirty Beasts (originally published in 1983) is a collection of poems from acclaimed British author Roald Dahl about, as the publisher says, "unsuspecting animals."
"The Pig"
In a strange turn of fate, an incredibly intelligent pig one day discovers that he and his species were born only so that humans could eat them. Instead of this, however, he turns on the man who was raising him and eats him instead.
"The Scorpion"
This simple poem tells the story of a black scorpion who likes to sting people's butts. One day, he finds a young kid who he wants to sting, which he does after the boy tells his mother that something is crawling near his butt.
"The Cow"
This poem tells the story of a cow called Miss Milky Daisy, who one day grows a pair of gold and silver wings. Because of this, Daisy becomes a bonafide celebrity - expect for a horrid man from Afghanistan. Because of the man's reprehensible behavior, Daisy drops what's called a cowpat on him.
