Bethany Wiggins explores the problems that people encounter during a post-apocalyptic era in Cured. Illustrate the statement using her novel of the same name.

Cured is essentially a novel in which Wiggins explores the happenings after a disaster strike. The novel is set at a time when society is divided into groups of people that are fortunate and not so fortunate. While the fortunate people live in a protective wall, the other people are forced to develop a mechanism to survive the attacks of the beastly creatures that roam the earth. Since the bees are gone, and raiders are attacking the ladies, the women have to disguise themselves as men to survive. Additionally, her brother Dean ends up missing after going to bring home their grandmother. As such, Jack has to work in order to find his brother and grandma in order to bring them home.

  2. 2

Jack and Kevin epitomize teenage romance in Bethany Wiggin’s Cured. Support this statement with illustrations.

Like most novels written for the young adults, Cured does not disappoint as it incorporates a story of love in its pages. Wiggins incorporates the story of Jack and Kevin, who represent teenage romance. While Jack is presented as a rather strong character who is always toiling to enhance her survival, she begins to let Kevin in as soon as the two meet. However, like most love stories that end almost tragically, Jack ends up heartbroken when she finally opens up to him. However, in an exciting twist, Jack realizes that Kevin’s behavior was to protect her. The love story ends as one of love and selfless care and dedication.
