a member of the German National Socialist party; known for their ideas of racial superiority and totalitarian rule

collaborator

a person who cooperated traitorously with the Nazi occupiers

partisans

members of an armed group formed to fight secretly against an occupying force, in particular one operating in enemy-occupied Yugoslavia, Italy, and parts of eastern Europe in World War II

farcical

resembling a farce, because of ridiculous aspects

semaphore

apparatus for signaling, an upright pole

gantry

a bridgelike structure with a platform

Czechoslovakia

a former country in central Europe (now divided into Czech Republic and Slovakia), occupied by German forces starting with the takeover of the Sudentenland
