What's the significance of Ra's Al Ghul's death?
In the comic books Ra's Al Ghul is said to be immortal. So when we see him defeated by Batman on the high speed rail train in Gotham there is a greater allusion to the question of his immortality and can it actually exist in this very real world created by director Christopher Nolan. Ra's is seen kneeling and what appears to be meditating as he plunges to his death. This quick shot creates a mystery for comic book fans to get excited about because it is playing into the storyline from the comics rather than attempting to depart from it completely.

Why does Bruce take a renewed interest in his father's company?
Bruce has been stealing Wayne Enterprises products, we see this while he's in Bhutan. He's rebelled against the company that bears his name. But when he returns to Gotham he has a renewed spirit with the company his Dad built. The reason for this is so he can use their technology program to enhance his crime fighting as Batman. He does this with the help of his father's old friend Lucius Fox.

Why does Bruce want to kill Falcone?
Falcone is the premier mob boss in Gotham City. He's got judges, police, everyone in his pocket. It was his good who murdered Bruce's Mom and Dad years earlier in front of him as a young boy. When Falcone is not convicted of any crimes during trial, Bruce has given up on the legal system to bring justice and decides to take it into his own hands. And he's decided he's going to shoot Falcone, which he isn't able to do.
