Leadership Matias Alejandro Stocker

At the end my junior year, in my AP United States History class, I was assigned a group film project in which I learned several important life skills. With this project, I took creative leadership to create a satirical film about Dorothea Dix and the mistreatment of prisoners in the 1800's. I sought and integrated input from my group members, while I held the main roles of director, editor, actor. Additionally, when I wasn't in front of the camera, I was behind it.
Of course, these roles came with their challenges, mainly: organization, and motivation. The way I dealt with these was by staying engaged with my group. Whenever we were working I made sure to constantly ask my members how they felt about it and if they had any suggestions. This supported production and organization because it ensured everyone was on the same page. Additionally, by including the collective interests in the project, I was able to keep everyone committed to completion because of the creation of an atmosphere or value and respect.
