Oedipus Rex: The first play in the Oedipus Cycle, though written last chronologically, this play tells the story of Antigone's father and half-brother, Oedipus.

Oedipus at Colonus: Written after Antigone, although it is set chronologically before it, this play explores Oedipus's death and the struggle between Antigone's brothers Eteocles and Polyneices, which leads to Creon seizing the throne and the scenario that is at the center of Antigone.
