Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging

Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging Analysis

Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging is a fictional teenage novel written by English author Louise Rennison and was first published by Piccadilly Press in 1999. The book is the first in Confessions of Georgia Nicolson series, and was followed by It's OK, I'm Wearing Really Big Knickers in 2000.

The book follows the adventures of Georgia Nicolson, as she tries to navigate high school and entering into romantic relationships. With the help of her friends, she manages to capture the attention of the popular, Robbie, whom she begins to become infatuated with. However, her efforts are halted by his relationship with the older Lindsay, whom Georgia believes is more mature because she wears a thong.

This book has been well received with it winning the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize Bronze Award and Printz Honor book in 2001. However, it has had some negative reception, by making it to #35 on the American Library Association's list of frequently challenged or banned books from 2000-2009. A movie adaption called Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging was released in 2008, and starred Georgia Groome as Georgia, and Aaron Johnson as Robbie.
