However, she leaves for the US with her mother, to live with her aunt and cousins, where she finds herself in many challenging situations.
Kasim
Kasim is Fabiola’s crush, and later, her boyfriend. He is Muslim and he does not have a father. He was raised by Dray’s Uncle, who acted as a father figure. Despite being previously identified as a bad boy, he has cleaned up his act and decided to take the straight and narrow path. However, he is killed, leaving Fabiola distraught and angry at the system.
Dray
Dray is the main antagonist in the book. He is Kasim’s best friend, but unlike his friend, Dray is still a dangerous bad boy. He deals drugs and spends his days splashing out illegal money and showing off. He and Fabiola detest each other, so much so that Dray attempts to kill her and Fabiola attempts to frame him for drug dealing.
